Liberal Losing Racist Trump Supporter!

Current proclivities dictate that if you say something good about Trump you’re a right wing racist supporter.

If, on the other hand, you say something bad about Trump you’re a liberal losing leftist.

This tactic on both sides not only stifles free speech, it’s extremely depressing, a form of bullying carried on mostly by people who do not know how to make a good argument on whatever topic is referenced.

During the election Glenn Greenwald felt compelled to pin this sentiment up on his twitter feed:

What does it say about us and where we are headed?

How do we combat this, or can we?

Must we justify what we are about to say with an apology first pinned to our twitter and facebook feeds?

“I didn’t vote for Trump but…”

“I voted for Trump but…”

Shall every response start with a  shortened version:

Is it really necessary to run in circles, side step or curb dialogue for fear or hurt feelings, offending someone in advance, to express an opinion, address or speak the truth?

Could this be a sign of the great divide that will see this country break apart?

Did this rhetoric play itself out in the Chicago Torture Case?

Further thoughts on the topic to come, but please share your views…

We Are At War – ALT M

altmI have an idea that could be useful to all those in the alt-media who wish to join forces and beat the onslaught of the corporate owned control freaks in the MSM.

To develop an alternative media clearinghouse that is based on Current News Topics submitted only by those in the alt-media who wish to support and participate in the clearinghouse.

The website for this outlet should be simple, text based.

Traffic will be topic driven. Members can choose what topics they believe are High Level, Medium Level and a Constant Level Alert in order to fulfill the desired effects of getting the information to the public while letting the public know that alt-media exists and is a vital part of the public’s discourse and welfare.

Members have complete creative control regarding how they approach each topic. The only part necessary to agree upon is the topic level, more about that in a bit.

It doesn’t matter how you approach a particular topic as long as it is titled and labeled either fact based or opinion driven.

All contributions submitted should be short, in summary form, with a link to a longer piece if needed or desired.

If a High Level Alert is perceived to last longer than the 24 hour news cycle it is hoped members will continue to push the current high level narrative even if it is just a reminder to your viewers or readers of your work or the work of others in order to be mindful of the current situation. Keeping the topic in the forefront of the public’s mind is paramount. As they says,  it’s all in the timing.

What Constitutes alt-media?
1. Nothing MSM.
2. A thoughtful and very informed individual/citizen.
3. A small news outlet or fact based citizen journalist with a constant presence on the net.
4. A dedication to diminishing the corporate owned MSM.

How It Works:
All members of the alt-media are welcomed to subscribe to the Alt-M.tba website and agree to do at least one story in concert within 12 hours under the topic of a high level alert

Three Levels of Alerts:
High, Medium and Constant.

Incorporating the memetics paradigm is highly encouraged.

High Level Alerts:
Are topics that appear to be catching on, like a festering wound, but are not based in fact, sourced or a questionable narrative that is receiving incalculable amounts of spin by MSM. Under a high level alert it is expected that all members will produce some sort of story/video combating that alert over a 12 hour period. All members must participate, even if that means you are already working on something and waiting for more information, still, let your viewers know the topic exists and that your report is coming soon. The alt-media topic is what matters most and that there are others outside the MSM working on the subject as well. “Be calm facts are coming.”

Examples of High Level Alert: SOPA, war, a whistle-blower coming forward, terror attack, weapon’s deals, government worker or agency lying – something that will either be confirmed with facts or works to counter or question the spin coming from the MSM. High Level can also be a bi-yearly or monthly concerted effort to inform the public that there are alt-media sites available to them at all times.

Medium Level Alert:
This would be something less urgent, but enough concern that people come together to produce topic based stories in concert. This level would be important information that could lead to further conflict or danger, it is a very watchful eye. If the perception is that all facts are not being released, or the MSM is leading up to a particular misguided narrative, this level would be akin to the town crier.

Medium Level topics are ongoing until they become High Level or they are resolved and archived.

Medium Level topics might be something you wish to pontificate upon over the course of a week, a month or years. It’s always in wait or at dead rest. It can open the door to more information from your readers or other alt-media members, perhaps even provide an outlet for whistle-blowers.

Constant Level Alert:
A piece produced by alt-media members at will, reminding the public how the MSM gets it wrong, or out right lies. This level provides an opportunity to report and shine a light on the spin and lies of the MSM and their over paid and elbow rubbing cohorts.

It is recommended that all members document their observations whenever possible using tags, dates, times and a document the particular medium. A good example would be, Chris Cuomo stating that it is only legal for the MSM to look at the DNC hacked e-mails produced by wikileaks. 10/16/16, 10AM, EST. CNN (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DcATG9Qy_A).

Everything else is up to the writer, and as a reminder you are always free to approach any topic in your own creative way and from your own personal perspective, as long as you state to the viewer or reader you are talking about facts (which you can back up) or this is your educated opinion.

Your suggestions for topics are also a good way to share and be inspired by others. Think about giving props to another alt-media news site or author if you are inspired to write or bring a particular topic to the attention of your subscribers.

Depending on the sophistication of the system to distribute this idea can become rather complicated – but I encourage the development of this system to be simple and easy to access.

4 Pages:
Front Page – Topics and Alert Level displayed.
Page 2 – List of News Outlet and archived updates.
Page 3 – List of Individuals Reporters and links to their site.
Page 4 – Member’s Page Access.

The front page, outlet and individual reporters pages will be open to the public and have a direct link to your site or channel.

The Member’s Page is only open to members. Here members are allowed to set topics and vote on the levels of any particular subject, it is also a place to commit to writing or recording with others alt-media members about different subjects, perhaps even a vbulletin forum.

There should also be an e-mail and text alert system once a topic becomes high level. It is further thought that any topic reaching a high level alert should be decided by at least 5 trusted members who agree unanimously to alert members through the texting and e-mailing system.

A kickstarter and donation buttons, perhaps even a Patron page can be established

We need this because we are at war and could lose so much if not all. The abuse and power of MSM and the growth of the Independent Alternative Media has changed the information landscape, from Andrew Breitbart to wikileaks and the hosts of other investigative alternative news web sites whose priority is exposing the truth, not spinning the story for parties, lobbyist, banks and corporations. Love him or hate him Andrew Breitbart was correct, we are at war with the MSM, we need to jump in and lasso the narrative quick, and we need to take hold and use the memetics at every turn!

alt-media has to act and organize fast, it can’t be bothered by personal politics, religion, race, gender or philosophy – all the things use to divide us – right now it’s about securing the narrative and making sure there is always a chair at the table for the truth and your freedom to report and speak it. If we don’t organize now, we could lose our voices.

To Recap
1. Incorporate memetics, video and written paradigms.
2. Where topics are driven by timing and the effect they have on the well being of the public to decide.
3. Using the concept that there is power in numbers and knowledge is power.

Calling out the MSM quickly and with force creates it’s own being or entity to contend with, alt-media thus becomes a bullhorn, grabbing more of the public’s attention in order to educate or at least giving the publics the notion to say, “Hold on, not so fast MSM,” in a bigger and more focused way.

What do you say, let’s light this candle!

update: 02/16/17
Just a quick note, the amazing response by the alt-media and the broader community to help and stand-up for pewdiepie was not only amazing, but demonstrates and proves the power we have as members and advocates for the alt-media, and as the people and citizen of many nations. I beg you to start organizing now before the MSM catches on and works to silence every voice that chooses to take the leap and step-up. Remember, they have endless funds, plenty of time, a ton of lawyers, own most of the politicians, along with having the deep state in their pockets.

TPP is back under a new name TISA.

Sorry folks, sadly Trump’s no friend to Net Neutrality.

As most of you know I am a big advocate for free speech, so whatever your bag I believe you have a right as a human being to express your thoughts. If you’re interested I outlined mine a bit in this article here, but to recap, watch the video linked to pewdiepie above, he made a really nice and sincere response. I can honestly say his channel didn’t interest me, but after his response I actually subscribed in order to support him, this man is very dynamic. I also realize he does a lot of silly caca, but if he decided to take on any issue as a vocation there’s no doubt in my mind he would be very successful because he is authentic, the real deal, a mensch.

There has also been a number of wonderful video responses made regarding what happen to pewdiepie; if anyone wants links leave a comment and I’ll pull them together and post them directly here.

In all honesty, I have to say this particular situation was really a clear shot across the bow, people need to come together and develop a small yet efficient system to remain vigilante. The MSM may not make the same mistake of picking on a very popular youtuber again, they will simply chip away and silence those who do not have the same exposure or numbers.

The reach needs to be broader than the local community as well. If pewdiepie didn’t have the number of subs he has (53 Million, YOW!) he would have been left to the wayside or relegated to the dust bin of history.

No matter, I have to admire pewdiepie, a.k.a. Felix Kjellberg  (BTW,  did you know Felix means happy, and isn’t that a wonderful name for this fellow? ), he could have taken his money and gone on to other things, but he didn’t, he stood up and not just for himself, but for humanity, for free speech; how often do you get to do something like that in your life and actually make a difference?!

Personally, I have a lot of dull and boring things on my plate, far too may filled with pointless stress and anxiety, trust me, I’d rather do something like the above than what I actually do to survive, wait, hold on, whilst I check my lottery ticket…..  As I was saying, if things turn around in one direction or the other I would love to be part of a project like the above, a movement or some mechanism that works to protects individual rights to speak rather than funding a small cabal of 6 media outlets that own 80% of the MSM we get now.

Please, keep me in mind, and feel free to ask. Remember, advice is always free and help is on the way!

Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement

Allowance Proposal: Every citizen is allowed a certain amount of copyright infringement – a.k.a.  allowance – each year. The work must be self-published. In other words, you must support it on your own site or through advertisement you personally pay for.

If you step outside those bounds, for example, display the portions of this allowance on YouTube or another profit making site, half of any funds made will go directly to the attributed artist(s).

If an artist has passed away no profits can be made by the original artist under the allowance, however, the working artists can continue to make profits from the material, as long as s/he stays within the allocated allowance.

Credit must be given to all parts of the material. The amount of copyright allowance will be determined by a board of representatives consisting of working artists, professional artists, government officials and the business community. Once a working artist goes beyond their allocated allowance fees to the artist and if necessary, after 2 warnings, fines will be introduced and must be paid, no exceptions. All unpaid fines will jeopardize  future allowance allocations.

Once the year is over the working artist keeps the previous years allowance allocations, a new year begins. working artists can not accumulate allowance time.

Any profits made from past allocations will be split between the artists only, corporations can not claim any rewards or profits from the working or original artists with the final product

This is a broad outline, but I think it’s a good place to start.

How much of an artist’s work can be used will be determined by the board of representatives. It is suggested that the Rule of Duchamp be kept in the minds of those making these decision as a point of reference.

Let’s encourage creativity, not crush it.

I encourage you to leave your comments with any changes you’d make or any suggestions you have to deal with the problems we face concerning copyright.

Thanks for reading!

The Financial Coup – results

I’ve been watching a number of videos on the Debtor’s Revolt on the You Tube and I came across this video.
Upper Middle Class

I pegged the guy as a republican, I’ll skip, for now, how I came to that conclusion, but what I hope this video and the words following will do is advocate something we need as Americans to think about very carefully, that we are all citizens of this nation and that we need each other to survive and prosper.

That said, the first question I have in response to this video is, did this man lower his rents to help his exiting tenants or did he do this in order to avoid empty apartments, avert bigger loss, stay afloat essentially, cover his ass?

Here’s the low down, the banks don’t care if this guy defaults on the loan because the tax payers, the rest of us, through Congress, will bail the banks out.

What this man has is potential toxic waste – the banks win if he defaults, they got their fees and will get more. Any money “lost,” our government, we the tax payers, will fund with our savings and pensions.

Does this man understand that? Does he care?

If Bank Of America (BOA) lowers his rate who’s rate will they increase to make up the loss? The vulnerable family trying to make ends meet? The elderly? The college student? Yours?

Other than some bad PR, BOA is not being hurt, they made a bundle on the last bailout, they are only hurting us and as long as Congress keeps looking the other way they will find what ever fall guy they need to mitigate the heat or change their name. Meanwhile, they continue to keep stealing our savings, create more jobs loss and lower our standard of living.

If this man’s property is resold BOA will get their fees again and they hope the new owner will also default, it is how they get more of our savings, by picking our pockets one at a time and now tossing us all into the bottomless abyss of debt-money from China and the Saudis; both countries with abysmal labor and human rights violations.

We’re all just about broke, we will never pay China or the Saudis back. This is a new Ponzi Scheme brought to you by Wall Street yet again, and it’s not only hurting us and our children, but also our reputation in the world.

The American people are just starting to figure this scam out, China and the Saudis will only buy up so much more of our debt without requiring political favors or the ability to make large investments in the US. We are being forced to sell our county, our land and our wealth to inimical foreign interests. We are losing our country, soon followed by the lose of our security and our rights.

The banks are making billions off these losses and they are buying up our local solvent institutions or forcing them out of business, this Democratic Congress has done nothing, but allow them to act with impunity. Madoff was small potatoes.

President Obama hasn’t done anything other than make idle threats. I suspect, that like President Bush, President Obama is surrounded by the same people from Goldman Sachs and Wall Street who are gambling with our future and masterminding a good part of this scam. (see: indentured-slavery)

Not only are the banks too big to fail, they are stealing the country’s wealth; your life savings and our children’s future. This massive debt is leading to pay cuts and job loss, it is lowers our standard of living and is dividing us by class and political angst.

This is a financial coup.

If our government wanted to help its people, they would start by breaking up these behemoth banks, give these foreclosed and investment properties to Americans without homes first or subsidizes fair and affordable housing based on income.

Remember what Ronald Reagan said about home ownership – “it supplies stability and rootedness.”

Do we want to sell our country’s borders to the highest bidder regardless of their corrupt track-record?

Unfortunately, the actions of Congress demonstrate they won’t do anything short of a revolt and why should they? They gave up on us long ago when former politicians were allowed to lobby and infiltrated out system of governance for quid pro quo pay backs. Public service is now a mere career step to bigger and better things and the American People are divided, they on their own without representation, traveling down the road of a dog eat dog society.

So I pose my question to this BOA customer, why should hard working people, those also in debt, losing their own homes, education, jobs, health care, working without a living wage help you?

So we can continue to preserve the status quo?

I would be weary of this man’s investment plight, should he not also be advocating affordable housing, living wage jobs, universal health care and free education for all his countrymen and women?

In these hard and very vulnerable times shouldn’t we also be helping our neighbors, secure our country and preserve the rights for all.

I hesitate and wonder… once relieved will this man go back to serving these corporate masters, the wealthy socialist elitists on Wall Street?

I may be pre-judging this American citizen, however, in this economy, in our current society is his outrage, his plea for help, is his only interest to cover his ass?

Is he hoping this video will call to arms the viewer, his fellow Americans to put pressure on BOA in order to be one of the lucky and then quickly renew his membership in the “As Long As It’s Not Me” club?

Stay tuned…

The Debtors Revolt Trickle Count Down To The Collapse

Lower Middle Class – 4 June 2009

The Middle Class – 8 September 2009

Upper Middle Class – 30 September 2009

Right now it would seem that if the vast majority of the American People wanted a change to our financial system, this crisis, the streets in DC and the State Houses would be full of outraged citizens with pitch forks and rope. Apparently, the brand of capitalism the people in the US want is a combination of sink or swim, as long as it’s not me and you’re on your own Pal. Until that attitude changes a lot of Americans are going to need a good strong pair of Chinese made boot straps.

What’s wrong with Americans?

Words Matter‏

Ever wonder what’s happening to words once they fall into the hands of corporate and government propagandists? Too often reporters and editors don’t wonder enough. They ditto the words even when the result is deception or doubletalk.

Here are some examples. Day in and day out we read about “detainees” imprisoned for months or years by the federal government in the U.S., Guantanamo Bay, Iraq and Afghanistan. Doesn’t the media know that the correct word is “prisoners,” regardless of what Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld disseminated?

The raging debate and controversy over health insurance and the $2.5 trillion spent this year on health care involves consumers and “providers.” How touching to describe sellers or vendors, often gouging, denying benefits, manipulating fine print contracts, cheating Medicare and Medicaid in the tens of billions as “providers.”

I always thought “providers” were persons taking care of their families or engaging in charitable service. Somehow, the dictionary definition does not fit the frequently avaricious profiles of Aetna, United Healthcare, Pfizer and Merck.

“Privatization” and the “private sector” are widespread euphemisms that the press falls for daily. Moving government owned assets or functions into corporate hands, as with Blackwater, Halliburton, and the conglomerates now controlling public highways, prisons, and drinking water systems is “corporatization,” not the soft imagery of going “private” or into the “private sector.” It is the corporate sector!

“Medical malpractice reform” is another misnomer. It used to mean restricting the legal rights of wrongfully injured people by hospitals and doctors, or limiting the liability of these corporate vendors when their negligence harms innocent patients. Well, to anybody interested in straight talk, “medical malpractice reform” or the “medical malpractice crisis” should apply to bad or negligent practices by medical professionals. After all, about 100,000 people die every year from physician/hospital malpractice, according to a Harvard School of Public Health report. Hundreds of thousands are rendered sick or injured, not to mention even larger tolls from hospital-induced infections. Proposed “reforms” are sticking it to the wrong people—the patients—not the sellers.

“Free trade” is a widely used euphemism. It is corporate managed trade as evidenced in hundreds of pages of rules favoring corporations in NAFTA and the World Trade Organization. “Free trade” lowers barriers between countries so that cartels, unjustified patent monopolies, counterfeiting, contraband, and other harmful practices and products can move around the world unhindered.

What is remarkable about the constant use of these words is that they permeate the language even if those who stand against the policies of those who first coin these euphemisms. You’ll read about “detainees” and “providers” and “privatization” and “private sector” and “free trade” in the pages of the Nation and Progressive magazines, at progressive conferences with progressive leaders, and during media interviews. After people point out these boomeranging words to them, still nothing changes. Their habit is chronic.

A lot of who we are, of what we do and think is expressed through the language we choose. The word tends to become the thing in our mind as Stuart Chase pointed out seventy years ago in his classic work The Tyranny of Words. Let us stop disrespecting the dictionary! Let’s stop succumbing to the propagandists and the public relations tricksters!

Frank Luntz—the word wizard for the Republicans who invented the term “death tax” to replace “estate tax” is so contemptuous of the Democratic Party’s verbal ineptitude (such as using “public option” instead of “public choice” and regularly using the above-noted misnomers) that he dares them by offering free advice to the Democrats. He suggests they could counteract his “death tax” with their own term “the billionaires’ tax.” There were no Democratic takers. Remember, words matter.

Using words that are accurate and at face value is one of the characteristics of a good book. Three new books stand out for their straight talk. In Grand Illusion: The Myth of Voter Choice in a Two-party Tyranny, Theresa Amato, my former campaign manager, exposes the obstructions that deny voter choice by the two major parties for third party and independent candidates. Just out is Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle by Pulitzer Prize winner, Chris Hedges. Lastly, the boisterous, mischievous short autobiography of that free spirit, Jerry Lee Wilson , The Soloflex Story: An American Parable.

Not withstanding their different styles, these authors exercise semantic discipline.

You Tube’s New Censorship

youtube.jpgA YouTube for All of Us
As a community, we have come to count on each other to be entertained, challenged, and moved by what we watch and share on YouTube. We’ve been thinking a lot lately about how to make the collective YouTube experience even better, particularly on our most visited pages. Our goal is to help ensure that you’re viewing content that’s relevant to you, and not inadvertently coming across content that isn’t. Here are a few things we came up with:

* Stricter standard for mature content – While videos featuring pornographic images or sex acts are always removed from the site when they’re flagged, we’re tightening the standard for what is considered “sexually suggestive.” Videos with sexually suggestive (but not prohibited) content will be age-restricted, which means they’ll be available only to viewers who are 18 or older. To learn more about what constitutes “sexually suggestive” content, click here.

* Demotion of sexually suggestive content and profanity – Videos that are considered sexually suggestive, or that contain profanity, will be algorithmically demoted on our ‘Most Viewed,’ ‘Top Favorited,’ and other browse pages. The classification of these types of videos is based on a number of factors, including video content and descriptions. In testing, we’ve found that out of the thousands of videos on these pages, only several each day are automatically demoted for being too graphic or explicit. However, those videos are often the ones which end up being repeatedly flagged by the community as being inappropriate.

* Improved thumbnails – To make sure your thumbnail represents your video, your choices will now be selected algorithmically. You’ll still have three thumbnails to choose from, but they will no longer be auto-generated from the 25/50/75 points in the video index.

* More accurate video information – Our Community Guidelines have always prohibited folks from attempting to game view counts by entering misleading information in video descriptions, tags, titles, and other metadata. We remain serious about enforcing these rules. Remember, violations of these guidelines could result in removal of your video and repeated violations will lead to termination of your account.

The preservation and improvement of the YouTube experience is a responsibility we share. Let’s work together to ensure that the YouTube community continues to thrive as a positive place for all of us.

Google spent $720,000 to lobby government in 3Q

logo-googleGoogle Inc. spent $720,000 in the third quarter to lobby on everything from patent reform and trade measures to online privacy, according to a recent disclosure form.

The Internet search giant lobbied on the regulation of online advertising and competition in that marketplace. Google also lobbied on a proposed advertising partnership with Yahoo Inc., which the companies recently abandoned in the face of a looming antitrust challenge being prepared by the Justice Department.

In addition, Google lobbied on efforts to map and expand the availability of high-speed Internet access and in favor of new rules recently approved by the Federal Communications Commission that will allow the use of “white spaces” – the unused, unlicensed spectrum between television channels – to deliver wireless broadband access.

Google also lobbied for so-called “network neutrality” rules, which would prohibit broadband providers from favoring or discriminating against online traffic flowing over their networks.

The Mountain View, Calif.-based company also lobbied on H-1B visas and efforts to crack down on spyware, computer programs that can surreptitiously access hard drives to track online behavior and steal sensitive personal data.

Besides Congress, Google lobbied the FCC and the U.S. Copyright Office during the third quarter, according to a disclosure form filed with the Senate clerk’s office on Oct 20.

Among those registered to lobby for the company were Johanna Shelton, former majority counsel the House Energy and Commerce Committee, and Pablo Chavez, former chief counsel to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.
