President Rick Santorum of the Planet Moon; The Real 51st State

a short science fiction story:

this is my attempt at a collaborative writing project – add at will in the comments and build on the premiss left by others. It is meant to be satirical, ironic and as much truth and twists as possible.
Feel free to come and go as you please. Elaborate and move the story line around in order to make it fit. All versions will be kept intact in the comments below.

Every now and again something strange and new will be tossed in – things found on the internet that could be used in some way to enhance the story line – including pictures, video and audio.
Enjoy and have fun!

A brief background – the topic for this idea was inspired by a conversation in which Newt Gingrich said as President of the United States he would like to go back to the moon. The conversation then moved to Rick Santorum’s surge in the election during the March GOP primaries.

Somewhere on the campaign trail in Steubenville, Ohio the two met, a deal was cut between Newt and Rick. In exchange for Santorum’s support Newt would win the GOP nomination and in return make Rick President of The Planet Moon.

Now, we all know the moon is not a planet, however, now that Newt is President he decided that if NASA wanted funding to revisit the place, and get back there before the Chinese did, they would have to classify earth’s only satellite as a planet.

Tired of being associated with Googlesantorum this deal gave Rick the idea and opportunity to push that search down to the bottom (no pun) perhaps even the next page by starting a whole new society, the way he wants society to be, the one where he controls all the information, ideas, news, philosophy and religion.

He made sure that when he cut this deal only he would be able to pick and choose those who would travel with him and build this new world, a world in his image and his dull imagination…

“What would you do if you possessed software that could think, understand every major language in the world, that provided peep-holes into everyone else’s computer “dressing rooms”, that could insert data into computers without people’s knowledge, that could fill in blanks beyond human reasoning, and also predict what people do – before they did it? You would probably use it, wouldn’t you?”
