Rightly, The First Memorial Day

Die Walküre:

In Wagner’s tale Brünnhilde is one of the Valkyries who is born from a union between the God Wotan (Odin) and Erda (personification of the earth).

The Valkyrie are the daughter angels of that union whose job it is to cheer on, help and escort earthly champions to Valhalla – Woton’s Hall of Heroes.

In Die Walküre Wotan initially instructs Brünnhilde (his most trusted and favorite angel warrior daughter) to protect Siegmund; his secret son by a mortal mother. Yes, Wotan get’s around, he travels a lot.

However, no one, but Woton knows that Seigmund is his son. He sort of abandoned him one dark and stormy night and thought he could make amends by sending in the Valkyries to protect him without anyone knowing.

Why does Seigmund need protection? He’s going to fight a man who gave him a place to stay and then slept with his wife the man’s wife Sieglinde; who he captured in a battle with his enemy – the Volsung. As it turns out Seigmund is his enemy and the man figures it out cause as he sees, ‘they both have the serpent in their eyes.’

When Fricka, Wotan’s heavenly wife of all things good, moral and domestic protests, cause she hears the prayers of a jilted husband, she forces Wotan to have Siegmund die for adultery and incest instead.

Say what?!

Yes, it’s a long story, by some chance Siegmund hooks up and runs off with; who he doesn’t know at the time, his long lost TWIN sister Sieglinde, and he is going to kill her abusive husband who is also his sworn enemy with the help, he hopes, of the Valkyrie; specifically,  Brünnhilde, (who is also his half sister), cause you see Sieglinde is now pregnant by I-thought-you-looked-familiar TWIN BROTHER Siegmund. Plus, he finds out Woton is really his father – it’s all very complicated, but trust me, it’s brilliant how all of this unfolds layer by layer in the opera (remember there was no internet in 1870).

Anyway, Fricka tells Woton if you break the laws of justice and morals by defending Siegmund you break your own spear. In other words, no one’s going to believe in you any more. Rule of law. Woton argues with her about love vs morals (irony), about his plan for mortal men to be free of the gods, that Siegmund was going to be the one to regain the ring (see the first opera), but she complains you gotta have standards and stick to them or everything falls apart, and if you help him how will he ever be free?

In the end Wonton agrees.

So Woton tells Brünnhilde there’s been a change of plans, Siegmund must defend himself alone which means he will die.

Brünnhilde disobeys Woton mostly because Sieglinde goes on and on about love and that it is more important than anything else.

Convinced, like her pop, about love Brünnhilde tries to protect Siegmund in the battle, but fails at the last minute cause Wonton shows up in disguise and breaks Siegmund’s sword with his spear. This is actually a very cool, but  sad scene, and even though you know this is going to happen it’s still a surprise when he shows up-  that’s just good story telling.

BTW- Tolkien loved this opera – some of this should sound very familiar.

Shocked that Wonton himself shows up Brünnhilde runs off with Sieglinde who is now very pregnant, along with the shards of Siegmund’s sword, Nothung (needless, needful, need nothing take your pick of intent or translation) which was given to him by his father Walsa a.k.a. Woton! The plot thickens…

Brünnhilde manages to hide; with the help of her sister angels, girls-this-baby’s-on-the-way-Sieglinde in secret with a skillful, but beaten down Gnome named Mime – who you saw in the last opera and will plenty of in the next.

Now Brünnhilde has to face the wrath of her father, cause there’s really no place to hide from a god.

Things are pretty tense cause Brünnhilde disobeyed and Fricka is on his back so Wonton is now determined to punish Brünnhilde in no small way and as an example to all.

Wonton’s penalty is to put Brünnhilde into an enchanted sleep where she will be awaken and claimed by any mortal man who happens to cross her path and she will be  forced to serve only him.

In other words, Woton is going to make Brünnhilde mortal, all her heavenly powers will be gone and she will be the object at the whim of any man who finds her, and remember in those days mortal women were little more than property and servants to the will of men.

Brünnhilde is naturally a little freaked out, she argues that what she did was in obedience to Wonton’s true will and does not deserve such a fate, and that she did it for the sake of love. Which Wonton was just arguing in defense of with Fricka. Brünnhilde hits a soft spot in Woton’s heart.

Now Woton is stuck between a rock and a hard place – but finds a compromise, he decides to still make Brünnhilde mortal, but he will protect her enchanted sleep, he calls on his pal Loge (Loki) to surround the rock with magical fire and sentences her to await awakening by a hero who does not know fear, a mortal who is freer than he himself, a god.

Which is pretty cool, and  Brünnhilde accepts his decision and her fate, she does become mortal, but mortal life ain’t easy, we find that out two operas later.

In the above clip  Brünnhilde has just made her case for truth and love, Woton must now say goodbye to the apple of his eye – she is about to undergo spiritual death in order to become mortal and suffer; being heavenly creatures they have no idea what that entails. Saying goodbye to an immortal is something brand new to Woton, it seems to stir something he hasn’t ever experienced before – regret and loss.

This is truly one of the most beautiful and dynamic pieces of music Wagner ever wrote, the pain and anguish a parent suffers when saying goodbye to a child who must die because of his actions, his decisions, the rules he chose to live by and taught his child to value will certainly bring tears to your eyes.

In those moments Woton experiences what it is like to be human.

In essence and in legend, this is the first Memorial Day save angels and gods.

.
.
.

If you disagree with any of the text let me know, it’s been a while since I saw the complete opera, (if you’re interested in going to see this, let me know) I may have missed or confused a few parts of the plot. There are many performances of Woton’s Farewell, but this is one of my favorite – lucky to still find it on youtube.

the banks own us

bankI plane to write about this extensively over the next few weeks, and of course it’s all very simple and something we all know, deeply suspect or feel in our bones, but we keep trying to fight it in the same old fashion way.

In short, and in the fewest words possible, the banks own us.

Sure there are some who can skate for a while on top, but in the end they will find a way to crush even the skeeters.

I submit that there is enough historical evidence and documents to come to this conclusion. However, facing this grim truth is a whole other can of worms.

There are three immediate solutions:
1. Buy your freedom for as long as it lasts.
2. Form an autonomous community of trusted and like mine, become self-sustaining.
3. Revolution.

Regardless, no matter which way you go the banks will always get their cut on the front, the middle or the back end of things.

And though it may seem like many are waking up, don’t be fooled. Complaining is not action, and be assured the indoctrination runs deep.

What I hope to do over the next few weeks is post links to solidify my conclusion for public consumption.

If you are aware of what I am  working towards and wish to share your findings through links or documents that BRIEFLY explain this observation and  conclusion please feel free to post them in the reply.

I’m not looking for conspiracy theories; the Jesuits or Illuminati, I’m looking for documented  direct observations over the past two centuries from people who have experienced this same revelation. have written about this  and the solutions they drew upon.

Cirque du distraction – Bundy Ranch

In this ring we have the infamous team of Hannity and Stewart
hs
Both Stewart and Hannity skipped, dodged and flipped over a lot of details that essentially makes them both political hacks – plenty of twisting and turning ensues.

You’ll need to catch up on this one…
Stewart: Apocalypse Cow!
Hannity: “He’s Obsessed with Me”

just a few obvious points:bundy-ranch-cow-facebook
Hannity made it sound like the BLM created a mass grave of cows – it was 6 – hardly a slaughter, and under the circumstances the BLM disposed of them properly. If you saw how your burgers are made this was not that big a deal; unless you’re a vegetarian then you already know and it’s probably why you’re a vegetarian. Then he presents more spin by showing pictures of a giant backhoe digging up the cows using just the right camera angle making the viewer think some hidden genocidal slaughter took place.

Stewart on the other hand refused to address that Bundy’s family herds have been grazing on the land for several generations, he then makes it sound like our benevolent government let him continue on for 20 years more – PURE SPIN – the question should have been, why the hell did this ineffective Federal Government drag its feet for 20 years helping to put an American Citizens in this horrible position? Talk about passive aggressive. That’s no way to run a government.

side note: Here’s another example of ineffective passive aggressive government.

This whole thing is a bullshit distraction from some very important issues, what should be or rather our lack of priorities: US sending troops into Poland, interfering in the Ukraine, droning people all over the middle east; including Americans, sending military into Africa, the NSA lies about spying on Americans; which makes Richard Nixon look like a saint, Israel/Palestine (stop laughing), allowing the continued torture of human beings whilst war criminals roam free, and the endless bailing out of crooked banks with no jail time for the crimes they committed.

All of the above reaffirms that the US is too big to fail and needs to be broken up – but be aware – there’s a push to unite the US and Canada (Russiaphobia) making the upper half of the continent  one country hovering in the background, (more on that conversation here).

Bottom line is this whole Bundy thing is a big Cirque du distraction.

okay then, so whatever – if this is how it’s going to go down, if this is part of a color or heifer revolution I guess as they say, let the games begin!

Steps in, Sean Shealy of Burning Man, he wants an after-party over at the Bundy Ranch where you can run naked, enter a contest to measure your penis and shit in the water – click

and things get ugly

Here’s something Stewart’s writers could have reported on – bringing some very needed attention, exposure and could have created a sense of comradery amongst us all through this man, 84 year old Shoshone Chief Raymond Yowell – an opportunity missed by the pretend left .

In this episode of Divide and Conquer the agenda continues as we gear up again for the no choices no voices 2016 right left campaigns.

Aren’t y’all tired of this crap, yet?

How about walking away from this beast and forming an alternative self-sustaining organic community?

- anyone want to get back to the basics?

a little update:
I think Bundy is an old man and a bigot- so what? I don’t want to live near the guy. As far as I’m concerned he and his ilk should be allowed to secede, as I believe me and my ilk should have that same right.

I also think the MSM is tripping on this guy – they should pity him and say good riddance to a dying breed, but they are using this old man to divide and conquer the nation and for profit.

If they weren’t they would be talking about more important issues (see above).

So the MSM told us something we already knew, every extreme group has their morons, but this is something the corporate MSM feels they can showcase to keep the majority divided. To all those who fall for this shit, I don’t want to live near you either, if you’re falling for this crap you’re about as stupid as this old man.

Study – US Is an Oligarchy Not a Democracy

oligarchsMajor Study Finds That The US Is An Oligarchy
Zachary Davies Boren

The US government does not represent the interests of the majority of the country’s citizens, but is instead ruled by those of the rich and powerful, a new study from Princeton and Northwestern Universities has concluded.

The report, entitled Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens, used extensive policy data collected from between the years of 1981 and 2002 to empirically determine the state of the US political system.

After sifting through nearly 1,800 US policies enacted in that period and comparing them to the expressed preferences of average Americans (50th percentile of income), affluent Americans (90th percentile) and large special interests groups, researchers concluded that the United States is dominated by its economic elite.

The peer-reviewed study, which will be taught at these universities in September, says: “The central point that emerges from our research is that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on US government policy, while mass-based interest groups and average citizens have little or no independent influence.”

Researchers concluded that US government policies rarely align with the the preferences of the majority of Americans, but do favour special interests and lobbying organizations: “When a majority of citizens disagrees with economic elites and/or with organized interests, they generally lose. Moreover, because of the strong status quo bias built into the US political system, even when fairly large majorities of Americans favour policy change, they generally do not get it.”

The positions of powerful interest groups are “not substantially correlated with the preferences of average citizens”, but the politics of average Americans and affluent Americans sometimes does overlap. This merely a coincidence, the report says, with the the interests of the average American being served almost exclusively when it also serves those of the richest 10 per cent.

The theory of “biased pluralism” that the Princeton and Northwestern researchers believe the US system fits holds that policy outcomes “tend to tilt towards the wishes of corporations and business and professional associations.”

The study comes in the wake of McCutcheon v. Federal Election Commission, a controversial piece of legislation passed in The Supreme Court that abolished campaign contribution limits, and record low approval ratings for the US congress.

sadists

ahSomeone asked me for a different word to describe bankers and the corporate super rich. Many words and phrases were offered, but after thinking about this for a number of weeks I arrived at the conclusion that bankers and the corporate super rich are sadists.

Sadism is a behavioral disorder characterized by callous, vicious, manipulative, and degrading behavior expressed towards other people.

Gandhi once said, “Poverty is the worst form of violence.”

When you have a small group of people who hold so much wealth, not two or three times more wealth, but thousands of times more wealth, wealth given by the earth for free, transformed and manipulated, and when that wealth isn’t put to good and moral use spread amongst the people through raised living standards, education, good nutrition and accumulated health care from thousands of years of history and public research that makes you a fucking sadist.

If you are a moral human being you know there are absolutely no excuses in this age with all the knowledge and wealth we have accumulated throughout the whole of human history that can not be efficiently dispersed for the betterment of all humans beings on this planet. There are absolutely no excuses unless, you are a sadist.

And if you think these sadist have earned and deserve every penny of their wealth and opportunity; whether by the luck of a sperm, a large collection of suckers or just plan dumb luck, that makes you their degenerate sycophant (ds).
.

It’s time to play your part, without any doubt in your words and with every gesture it’s time to decide where and with whom you stand.

ahthumb

.
.

note to self -
Hypotheses: The super rich control and own everything.
Observations: 2014 – The Bundy ranch made headway with the perceived threat of violence. 1968 – After the death of MLK black communities across the US made headway by rising up with outbursts of violence, unity under one cause. Numbers matter, Organization Skills Required, Leadership Skills Needed, United Philosophy/Cause, Doing The Right and Just Thing, Giving Up Is Not An Option.
Theory: When standing up to sadists and their boot licking toadies they will cower.
Test: TBA

.
.
What to do with these sadists and their ds, thoughts?

Kafka, meet Orwell: peek behind the scenes of the modern surveillance state

“I woke up to pounding on my door”, says Andrej Holm, a sociologist from the Humboldt University. In what felt like a scene from a movie, he was taken from his Berlin home by armed men after a systematic monitoring of his academic research deemed him the probable leader of a militant group. After 30 days in solitary confinement, he was released without charges. Across Western Europe and the USA, surveillance of civilians has become a major business. With one camera for every 14 people in London and drones being used by police to track individuals, the threat of living in a Big Brother state is becoming a reality. At an annual conference of hackers, keynote speaker Jacob Appelbaum asserts, “to be free of suspicion is the most important right to be truly free”. But with most people having a limited understanding of this world of cyber surveillance and how to protect ourselves, are our basic freedoms already being lost?
