In a sharp reversal of its longstanding accusations against Iran arming militants in Iraq, the US military has made an unprecedented albeit quiet confession: the weapons they had recently found in Iraq were not made in Iran at all.

Iran says IAEA report provides more evidence vindicating its nuclear program

Iran’s top nuclear negotiator welcomed a report released by the U.N. nuclear watchdog Friday on Tehran’s atomic program, saying it provided more evidence vindicating the country.

The report by the International Atomic Energy Agency said many past issues had been fully resolved or were no longer an issue at this stage. But the group said Iran had dismissed as false information that says its missile and explosives experiments are part of a nuclear weapons program and continued to enrich uranium in defiance of U.N. Security Council demands.

“This report is more evidence proving Iran’s truthfulness on the nuclear issue,” Iranian negotiator Saeed Jalili told a press conference Friday. “This victory is the result of resistance by the Iranian nation in insisting on its rights.”
